It rained jubilations and excitement on Thursday, the 26th of October 2023, for us all at Dataleum as we emerged as the “Best EdTech Startup in Africa” at the Global Startup Awards Africa Summit held in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital.
The GSA Africa Summit is a prestigious event that portrays African innovation in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. This event brings together visionaries and business leaders committed to using innovation to shape Africa’s future.
How it all started.
The journey to achieving this milestone began when we competed at the national level. We showcased our impactful ideas and dedication to transforming the EdTech industry. Our outstanding performance made us win the West African category where we claimed the “Best EdTech in West Africa”.
We then proceeded to compete with a host of other fast-growing EdTech startups from East, North, and Southern Africa. After a voting process, we proceeded to the GSA Summit to pitch alongside top contenders across the continent.
Our CEO, Bode Roberts, expressed his joy upon receiving the EdTech Startup of Africa award. He remarked, “Winning this award as the Best EdTech Company in Africa by the Global Startup Awards is huge. This achievement underscores our commitment to shaping the future of talent development through innovation”. He also expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the team in advancing the growth and potential of individuals and businesses in Africa and beyond”.
